Bennett Litwin is a Sci Fi Maker who is making his own science fiction movie: “Frackers”.

In the second episode of the Sci Fi Maker Show, Bennett explains the meaning of Frackers – it’s not what you think – and much more.

Bennett’s writing journey

As someone who has been writing for 25 years, Bennett is trying to tell stories. Stories we’ve never seen before.

He writes books – five have been published.

He writes screenplays – twenty features and shorts.

He wrote and produced a web series.

It all started when he was four years old and nearly died. He had an out of body experience which led to his first book.

A science fiction fan his entire life, “Frackers” started life as a drama that came to Bennett in a dream. He wrote the first draft in only four days!

They are currently working on draft 30 or so. In rewriting, the drama turned into a comedy.

He’s written 20 screenplays, but only six of them are good. You have to keep working to hone your craft.

Important lessons

  • He was not a good writer when he started.
  • You have to write the bad scripts or books to get to the good ones.
  • Be prepared to suck at first.
  • Get a camera and do it! It’s fun!
  • Nobody is good at everything. Know what you’re good at. Bennett realized he is not a director so he hired one.
  • Network. Make friends who are not exactly like you. You can put them to work on your project.
  • Get out of the house.
  • Volunteer to help other people with their projects.
